He attended M.I.T. before earning his B.A. and his law degree at Texas Tech University. He earned a Master of Laws at Harvard Law School. He has taught law both at Loyola University in New Orleans and South Texas College of Law in Houston. His teaching fields included drug law, aw and sex, the First Amendment, and law and technology.
